“Tyranny is rising up. She tore her veil, lifted her head.
She wants to walk over our dead bodies.”
Danton, 1794

- December 30, 2002:: The legal demand of Yannis Serifis, 74 years-old antiauthoritarian worker and syndicalist imprisoned as member of 17N, to be released on terms is accepted. He gets out of prison on bail -30.000 euros-, he has not the right to leave the country, not even Attiki area, and has to present himself in a local police station twice a month. (Charges against him were not dropped and he will be on trial together with the other accused as 17N members.)

- January 2, 2003:: After Ageliki Sotiropoulou, imprisoned for 17N case, completes 22 days of hunger strike, the prison’s prosecutor makes public commitment that he will allow her prison cell’s door to remain open, her right to communicate will be extended, that gradually the prison conditions she’s under will be replaced by the same conditions of other women prisoners and that the same will happen for all 17N prisoners...

- January 9, 2003:: Anestis Papanastasiou, cousin of Nikos Papanastasiou who is already in prison charged as 17N member, gets arrested in Thessaloniki, in a period of new intensification of rumors about 15 new arrests. In an orgy of misinformation by the media, three new arrests are announced.
